Rock Coast Runner Point Series

Sponsored by Lincoln’s Country Store

  1. Must be a current member of RCR.
  2. Must declare to series director intent to participate. You may join series after it begins but you only accumulate points in subsequent races, not prior races.
  3. Age categories for each gender are: 0-19, 20-39, 40-59, and 60+
  4. Age Category is determined by age on 12/31/2010.
  5. Best 7 finishes count towards overall.
  6. In order to receive prizes, you must have completed 4 races in the point series
  7. Scoring: Points are scored based on your finish place compared to the rest of the field. The formula looks scary, but isn’t really. It looks like this:

    (1-(finish place/ total participants)) x 100 = Points Awarded

Thus if you come in 5th out of 25 participants, you would earn 80 points. If you came in 60th out of  80 participants, you would score 25 points.

  1. A “participant” is a definition of convenience. If the final results list “Did Not Finishers,” those numbers will be added to the total number of finishers. If the final results only include finishers, that is the number will be used. Points will be calculated consistently within races, using the same denominator.
  2. Any ties after points are accumulated and races are dropped will be resolved based on head-to-head results
  3. In addition to fastest finishers, raffle prizes based on participation: the more races you do (the seven race rule does not apply), the better your odds of winning, even if you come in dead last in every single race!
